The Financial Sector in the 2020s: Building a More Inclusive System in the New Decade

The managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, delivered a speech on the challenges that the current global context is going through. She stated that the main challenge of this new decade is the increasing uncertainty, particularly in one of its determinants such as inequality. Finally, she presented the results on the role of the financial sector in this area, such as (i) the growing inequality and the tools to address it; (ii) three dimensions of how the financial sector impacts inequality; (iv) policies to build a more inclusive system in the next decade: safer, stable and smarter.
